4 Medusa

The Medusa is probably the most well-known hidden boss in Dragon's Dogma 2 at this point. So many people made guides on how to 'best decapitate' the Medusa once this secret was found that it's hard for someone just playing DD2 for the first time to not know about this enemy. However, by design, this was still meant to be a hidden boss, so it absolutely deserves a spot on this list. Sadly, the Medusa, while being a nice callback to the start of the game, is a pretty short fight if players want to get its head in the best condition.

3 Sphinx

The Sphinx is maybe the most memorable new monster introduced in Dragon's Dogma 2. This riddle-loving creature is the head of one of the most enjoyable side quest chains in the game and is just a beautiful design overall. There are about 10 riddles that the Arisen can solve per the Sphinx's request, with each correct solution granting a different reward and each incorrect solution ending the questline altogether (so be ready to save and reload). However, players can actually fight the Sphinx herself and even kill her to get a whole pile of gold and the Key of Sagacity which unlocks the gigantic chest seen behind the Sphinx herself.

Now, most people haven't really 'fought' the Sphinx, as they likely used the Unmaking Arrow they got from the Sphinx as a reward for answering her seventh riddle correctly, but that's not the only way to go about this. As it turns out, the Arisen can actually kill the Sphinx in combat, but only if they target the animal parts of her and leave the human parts alone. That's right, even killing the Sphinx is a puzzle in its own right, the solution to which can be found on the Vase she has the Arisen transport for the Riddle of Futility. She has four health bars, so be ready for a tough battle, but after killing her players will get the Eternal Wakestone from the gigantic chest behind her as well as a shocking amount of gold.

2 Dullahan

Moving on to another incredibly visually interesting boss, the Dullahan. Players will fight one as part of the Till Death Do Us Part side quest but they can also be found in the overworld of DD2 at night, just before it becomes day. And, if players find a Dullahan, they literally disappear if it becomes day, so they have an innate time limit mechanic for fighting them, which can make things very rough. Players will be able to tell if a Dullahan is nearby if a fog starts appearing that extinguishes their lanterns. Once the Dullahan appears, it's time to start maybe the most irritating boss fight in the entire game, at least for melee Vocations it is.

This is due to the fact that the Dullahan loves to use two moves in particular, one where they hold their head over their...head and shriek, stunning anyone in the AoE and knocking them to the ground or they use a grab move that also has quite the long animation. If things go wrong, it'll feel like there's nothing the player can do without ending up face-first in the dirt, so it's highly recommended to rely on range or utilize spellcaster pawns to make these fights a lot less painful. The only other tips we can give for the Dullahan is to use any Evasive Skills or Parry Skills to make more windows to attack, and if all else fails, rely on some of the truly overpowered builds such as the Magick Archer's Matyr's Bolt.

1 Lesser Dragon

And finally, there are the Lesser Dragons. While everything else on this list only has a few encounters, at most, Lesser Dragons appear a bit more frequently. And, for anyone who is confused as to which dragons are specifically considered 'Lesser Dragons', it's the red ones with the pustules all over their bodies. Fighting these things can be really rough, as players really only want to be hitting their pustules, and they can be incredibly deadly to both Arisen and Pawns without much work.

In general, players can fight them like they would the green dragons, as long as they target the pustules, but overall all of the dragon enemies in Dragon's Dogma 2 can be pretty painful to fight at melee range. However, their drops make the encounters more than worth it, as they have a variety of armor, weapons, and Wyrmslife Crystals they can drop on death.
